About Us

Our Story

Our focus is to build help Africa towards an equitable future through education, advocacy, research and social entrepreneurship.

The Usawa Institute has been working with girls and women since 2017 and it was in two separate projects Girls Speak Out a coding, media, advocacy and digitals skills for girls coming from under-served communities and Power Classes 4 Women (PC4W) which were capacity building classes for women who wanted to advance both their hard and soft skills to better their social enterprise and community-based projects.

Since the inception of both projects, Girls Speak Out and Power Classes  (PC4W) we have collectively trained 230 girls and women in the different mentorship classes, programs and training sessions that have been held the two projects.

We believe in the power of girls and women taking up leadership in the communities will bring a transformation to their communities.

Raising awareness and disseminating information that is factual and proven will bring power to our participants and a desire to make Africa better.
